These pyramids are amazing to me. First the construction at the time was all done by man power and they are still standing today. The most amazing thing about them is even in ancient times people believed it was necessary to honor the dead. This is their way of honor the person and helping its soul continue to the afterlife.
We today, still us some of the same rituals to honor our family members, loved ones and military or unfortunately those affected by terrorist attacks such as 9-11. We constructed the same type of monument for all those we lost. I find these ritual interesting that over thousands of year, people are really the same.
